"Thank you again for the wonderful trip to Ireland. We had a fabulous time!"
Michelle S. (Ireland 2025)

Ireland

Green is life. Abundant in nature, green signifies growth, health, and environment. As the emblematic color of Ireland, green represents the vast green hillside as well as Ireland's patron saint, St. Patrick. From the moment you set foot in this inviting country, you will understand why it is called the “Emerald Isle”.

We begin in Killarney in the southwest region, commonly described as "picture postcard beautiful". We'll be staying at the modern SCOTTS HOTEL, situated right in the heart of Killarney village. Our goal here is to impress upon you how the region got its deserving reputation. We hike in the legendary Killarney National Park, set on 24,000 acres of forest, lakes and mountains. We will cut right through the famed Gap of Dunloe surrounded by massive glacial rocks, visit the famous Muckross House Manor and travel the Ring of Kerry en route to hikes on the Iveragh & Beara Peninsulas. On your day off, you might choose to pucker up and book a tour to kiss the Blarney Stone!

From Killarney, we then travel by private coach to the charming capital of Dublin. Split into two halves by the River Liffey, Dublin is not only a vibrant city, but one that offers history and literary buffs a chance to walk in the footsteps of Edmund Burke, Ernest Shackleton, Oscar Wilde & James Joyce. Of course, you can also easily while away the day enjoying a Guinness (or two!) in one of Dublin’s 1,000+ pubs. While here, we shall be staying at the MESPIL BY THE CANAL HOTEL overlooking the Grand Canal in Dublin's embassy district. Our program in this area includes a couple of excellent hikes, as we walk in and around the fishing village of Howth and in picturesque Glendalough in the Wicklow Mountains.

It'll be the most "craic" you’ll have on a hiking holiday!

As the saying goes - "One Hundred Thousand Welcomes" and so we welcome you to Ireland.

Day 2

HIGHLIGHTS OF KILLARNEY
The perfect introduction to Killarney National Park! From Ross Castle, travel by motorboat across Loch Lein to Dinis Cottage. A footpath leads around the north side of Muckross Lake to Muckross House where you will have free time to explore. The final leg of the walk takes us right to Torc Waterfall. (Light, 7 km)

Day 3

BLACK VALLEY & THE GAP OF DUNLOE
The Gap of Dunloe is a narrow mountain pass between the MacGillycuddy Reeks and the Purple Mountains. It has a chain of 5 small lakes running through it and waterfalls can be seen all around! (Moderate, 15 km)

Day 4

DAY OF LEISURE OR PRIVATE TOUR OF DINGLE PENINSULA
You are totally free to do whatever you wish today, but note that your guide will organize a private group tour of the famed Dingle Peninsula for any interested guests - just for our group with our own private bus and driver! This is an optional tour and more information on pricing, scheduling and so forth will be forthcoming once we get closer to our trip date.

Day 5

TOMIES WOOD & O'SULLIVAN'S CASCADE
Without question one of the finest walks in Kerry, Toomies Wood is a beautiful loop walk through oak woodlands along the slopes of Tomies Mountain. Set on the shores of Lough Leane, the Wood is home to the enchanting O'Sullivan's Cascade - a hidden gem! From various vantage points along the trail we see Ross Castle and Killarney town. Our hike concludes at the opulent 5-Star Dunloe Hotel & Gardens with a celebratory drink - wait until you see the lobby! ((Moderate, 10.5 km)

Day 6

THE WINDY GAP
The small town of Glenbeigh is the start of a beautiful hike that takes in some of the most breathtaking scenery in the entire region. As we zig-zag our way up towards the Gap, we see the Dingle Peninsula on the other side of the Bay. The views only get better as Lake Caragh comes into sight as does Carrantuohil Mountain (Ireland's highest at 3460ft). (Moderate, 11km)
